Information about the Arctic Fox: The Arctic Fox – also called the Polar, White or Snow Fox – is a small mammal of the Canidae family. It has the distinction of living in one of the coldest and harshest environments on the planet. It’s deep and heavy fur helps protect it from the elements. While it’s ears are comparatively small compared to other foxes, it’s hearing is so keen it can detect and locate prey underneath the snow. Like some other mammals of the far north, it’s fur changes color with the seasons; white in the winter and gray-brown in the summer.
