Description Ghicha is the silken yarn obtained from cocoon which do not get included in the routine process of reeling in of tussar silk directly from the cocoon. Ghicha threads are the undyed leftovers of pure Tussar silk threads which are processed for dyeing. Hence, the Ghicha silk threads are natural and it offers the natural texture and an exceptional weave. This yarn is generally used as a blend material with pure silk fabric or ‘katia’ silk or pure cotton fabric. The Madhubani style represents the art of ‘Madhubani’ or ‘Mithila’. This beautiful art practiced in the ‘Mithila’ region of India (Bihar) and in Nepal. Painting is done with fingers, twigs, brushes, nib-pens, and matchsticks, using natural dyes and pigments. Eye-catching geometrical patterns depict ritual content for special occasions such as birth or marriage, and festivals such as Holi, Surya Shashti, Upanayana, Durga Puja etc. This pure silk saree in green with intricate hand painting on ‘pallu’ can be styled with a pair of matching patent pumps for a fancy dinner date.
