It took some doing, but it eventually worked out. Some time ago we sent in semen from Italy of Int-Multi Champion Pemcader High Flyer, who is also "Champion reproducer" in Italy (which means that of every litter of which he is the father, at least 1 puppy later also became a champion).
The expensive stuff arrived just in time from Italy so that the vet could immediately introduce it via endoscopic artificial insemination and it now appears with success, because Abby is pregnant, and probably not only from Charlie but also from Tuur because I did not want the risk assuming that the sperm would be too late in the Netherlands, so Tuur has also done something in the womb, which has been possible since 2020 and is permitted by the Dutch kennel club RvB.
After birth, we will find out through DNA testing which puppy is from which father ...... exciting.
With the time that went on and the CoVid-19 rules getting tougher in and during the second corona wave, which also hit Italy, going "picking up Kae" was no longer a matter of course.
In the Netherlands a travel ban was already imposed “do not travel unless it is a necessary journey” and I found it very necessary to pick up my Kae, she was now vaccinated against rabies and already almost 16 weeks old, her weight including the travel bag was just over 7 kilograms and KLM allows transport up to 8 kilograms in the cabin of the aircraft.
So I made every effort to travel to Bologna in a zigzag after first having done a commercial CoVid-19 test and luckily it was negative, I was allowed to go to Italy on ……. FRIDAY the 13th
Back again on Saturday 14 November, but now with Kae on my lap in the cabin of the KLM cityhopper and once arrived at Schiphol I get to hear from Peter, who came to pick me up, that the Reggio Emilia in Italy will also be on lockdown.
But that didn't matter to me anymore
KAE is at home.
Welcome, Pemslife Very High Resolution in the pack of Y Ddraig Goch.
Last week a small and chilled package arrived from Italy.
The package contained a small tube full of “living tissue” and was delivered by TNT by express to a vet in the place Best near Eindhoven. The specialized vet Laura has checked the stuff and labeled it as “very good” before inserting it with Abby with an endoscope…. Now we have to wait and see whether and what it will give.
