.... What is a Fluffy Welsh Corgi?

                                    A Fluffy Corgi is nothing else than a long-haired Welsh Corgi !                                                                                                                                                                    Beside the long hair this Welsh Corgi is just as real as the next Welsh Corgi is ...... but it is not show quality.

It is not "a wrong"  Welsh Corgi but the breed standard describes the breed with this coat;

"Medium length, straight with dense undercoat, not soft, wavy or wire-haired and has an especially long fluffy and soft wavy hair.

A fluffy Corgi can't  ever win a show and get the first price but they always steal the hearts of those that see the fluffy for the first time.

There are breeders who examined the parents in the presence of the gene that causes long hair ... I don't do that deliberately because I think it's much more important to examen the eye's and hip's because that are diseases as a Pem with long hair is't. Corgi breeding should be a fun activity and remain not established science. The fluffy reminds us of earlier times that the Corgi been crossed with other breeds that do still have a nice long coat such as;

Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie) and the Welsh Collie.

And because it is a characteristic that unfortunately never once seen on the show's, here are some fine examples of beautiful Welsh Corgi version .... THE FLUFFY Pembroke Welsh Corgi .....

This was a tribute to the variation of the Pembroke Welsh Corgi .... fluffy coat.

Maybe ... sometime ....... a separate breed?! The long hair Pembroke
